The Best Camera is the One You Have With You.
Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 3:42PM Seriously, the only camera that counts is the one you have with you. Sure you can drag that bag of gear around with you everywhere you go, but having a backup pocket camera is priceless. Not only are you more likely to have it when some cool photographic possibility catches your eye, but it changes how you shoot. It's very freeing.
I almost always have my trusty Canon G-11 with me for those random moments. There are so many serious compacts in the pipeline that I think DSLR's are on their way out.
Here's an HDR from LT's, where I had lunch for the first time. It was oustanding, my kind of place definitely. I have a little Bogen stand that attaches to my G-11 for just such a situation. I set it on the table and cranked off 3 shots for this HDR. It's great to have a camera with you.
